Romantic and magical Taormina

Defined by Goethe as “the biggest masterpiece of art and nature”, the beautiful city of Taormina is considered the pearl of Sicily for its amazing views. With Mount Etna on the back and with the surrounding green hills, Taormina is certainly one of the most beautiful destinations on the island, able to fascinate the eyes and the imagination with its stunning bay.

The classic itinerary starts in Porta Messina, on the north side. This door of medieval origins represents the main entrance to this greek- roman city. Walking through Corso Umberto I, you get to the heart of Taormina. This is the main street full of exclusive bars and restaurants, jewelry shops, artisanals and luxury boutiques, and typical Sicilian restaurants where eating good fish and drink local wines.

Arriving in Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II you can admire the Church of Santa Caterina, the Museum of Art inside a baroque building with its Arabic tower and the Odeon built under the Roman Empire with clay stones.

A few steps ahead, Piazza IX Aprile with its panoramic terrace will offer a spectacular view of Taormina.

The Ancient Theatre represents the most important architectural and cultural monument in the city. With its greek origins totally built on the stones, together with the opulence of Mount Etna and the beauty of Ionian Sea create a breathtaking frame overlooking the brighting bay of Naxos.
